How to import projects exported from Whisk2CapCut into CapCut
π Quick Start (4 Steps)
Enter information in Export Modal
Scenes tab > Click "π¦ CapCut" button, then enter username and project number
π‘ Run whoami in Terminal
π‘ Check the next number in CapCut folder
/Users/john/Movies/CapCut/User Data/Projects/com.lveditor.draft/0131
Extract the ZIP file
Double-click the downloaded projectname_capcut.zip to extract
Copy to CapCut projects folder
Copy the extracted folder (e.g., 0131) to the path below
Restart CapCut
Completely close and restart CapCut, then the project will appear in your list
π€ Find Your System Username
- Open Terminal (Spotlight: Cmd + Space β "Terminal")
- Type
whoamiand press Enter - The displayed name is your username
- Open Command Prompt (Win + R β "cmd")
- Type
whoamiand press Enter - Shown as
COMPUTER\usernameformat (use only the username)

π‘ In Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G and paste the path

π‘ Type the path directly in File Explorer address bar or press Win + E
π Export Folder Structure
After extracting, you'll see the following folder structure. Copy this entire folder to your CapCut project path.

π§ Troubleshooting
Project doesn't appear in CapCut
- Try completely closing and restarting CapCut
- Verify the folder path is correct (copy into com.lveditor.draft folder)
- Make sure the project folder name doesn't contain special characters
Media files are missing
- Verify the media folder is inside the project folder
- Make sure the ZIP file was fully extracted
Which path should I choose?
- Try switching between preset buttons (CapCut / CapCut Pro / Documents) in the Whisk2CapCut extension
- Open your CapCut project folder to check where existing projects are stored
- Usually CapCut is the default path
AppData folder is not visible (Windows)
- File Explorer > View > Show hidden items
- Or type %localappdata% directly in the address bar
